Trauma Intensive

When you want an extended therapy experience that offers more time and continuity than a traditional weekly session allows.

In a typical therapy hour, we have to account for arriving, settling in, doing the work, and making sure there is enough time to close before you leave. Sometimes, just as we begin to reach something important, it is time to stop. An intensive gives us enough room to do deeper work and follow the process as it unfolds.

More time does not mean pushing harder or trying to process as much trauma as possible. It gives us the flexibility to work at the pace your nervous system needs without being as constrained by the clock.

EXPERIENCE

How it works

0145 min preparation sessionWe discuss relevant history, current supports and clarify what you would like to work on.
02One-day IntensiveApproximately 4 hours of therapy, divided into morning and afternoon sessions with lunch and rest in between. Sessions may extend up to 30 minutes when clinically necessary.
0345-minute virtual follow-upWe meet via zoom 1-2 days after the intensive to reflect on the experience, notice what continues to unfold, and discuss next steps or additional supports.

Investment & Availability

Trauma Intensives are offered one weekend per month at my Charlottesville, Virginia office and are booked for the following month.

Preparation

  • 45 min virtual session to clarify what you want to work on
  • Understand relevant history
  • Identify current supports

One-day Intensive

  • Approximately 4 hours of individual therapy
  • Lunch and rest break
  • Flexibility for up to a 30-minute extension when clinically necessary

Follow-up & Integration

  • 45-minute virtual follow-up 1–2 days later
  • Reflect on what emerged
  • Notice what continues to unfold
  • Consider next steps and additional supports

Integrative Trauma Work

  • EMDR
  • Somatic psychotherapy/table work
  • Parts Work
  • Used individually or in combination, tailored to your needs.

Total cost: $1,250

  • $300 non-refundable deposit
  • Remaining balance due one week before the intensive.
  • Private pay only. Trauma Intensives are not billed to insurance.
